Think holidays and ‘ring of fire’ and it’s likely you’ll be recounting a tale about that time you caught Delhi belly. Not if you head to Nicaragua: in the Central American country, you can scale the 728m of Cerro Negro, one of the newest volcanoes in the world (it first appeared in April 1850), and then surf back down again. Yes, that’s right: from the glowing crater at the peak, you can leap on a board and descend 450m across rock and smouldering ashes. Quite phenomenal and quite foolish.
