Black Tomato was created by Matt Smith, Tom Marchant and James Merrett as a result of their huge passion for discovering new travel experiences and seeing what our planet has to offer.
Friends for many years, the idea was born over conversations around a fire deep in the Australian outback nine years ago. It became a reality in 2005 following years spent dreaming, travelling, planning, travelling, talking, more travelling and then committing to pursuing the dream that was underpinned by one key motivation:
A motivation to create bespoke travel experiences that excite, amaze and are of a truly rare quality for those for whom travel is a passion.
Much like our name. The Black Tomato is a refined variety of fruit found in rare locations and climates, but when discovered offers an amazing tasting experience.
