Surfers all have their dream boarding hang-out.
Whether it’s the west coast of Mexico, the volcanic islands of Hawaii or the celebrity covered beaches of California, there’ll be a surfing guru out there shouting about it.
So it can be a tough task picking where to take your board once you’ve graduated from our surfing school in Lanzarote.
But when you think about it, it isn’t that difficult to decide on a destination, you just go where the waves are biggest.
And in 2009 the largest swells so far have been seen off the coast of Bali in Indonesia.
Just last weekend 10ft waves were crashing down at Outside Corner, and the swell in Bali peaked on Saturday September 11th with surfers riding mammoth 12ft waves.
And let’s not forget that the largest wave ever surfed hit Uluwatu 20 years ago, so Indonesia is surely due another record breaking swell.
If you’ve been bitten by the surfing bug and are yet to take a holiday to Indonesia, you don’t know what you’re missing.
