We’ve always been huge fans of Mexico, picking it ahead of the Bahamas any day of the week and it seems that it’s not just us who have a special place for the Central American sun-spot.

That could be why global travellers have named Mexico three times in a US travel association’s poll of the top ten best destinations on the planet.

Cancun made number two on the list, the River Maya was at number three, and Playa del Carmen came in at number seven. Proof – if any was needed – that Mexico is the hottest Latin American holiday destination by a long way.
