hotel description
This is Dublin’s premier boutique hotel, with rooms luxurious enough for a rock star (such as owners Bono and the Edge, of U2 fame). The 19th century building has a classic style, but with plenty of contemporary touches for a star-studded atmosphere. Hole up in ultimate comfort with views over the river or the centre of the city – this really does feel like a home away from home (if you’re home had an amazing spa and concierge that is…).
location
Facing the River Liffey in the heart of Dublin, this is the perfect base for your Ireland city experience. Just a few minutes walk and you’re in the middle of this trend-setting town with endless fantastic restaurants and bars for the perfect evening out and picturesque avenues and parks for an afternoon stroll.
your room
Each room is individually designed with bigger-than-king sized beds and all the elegant refinery you could need. Each room is centred on one of the hotel’s five signature colours (crimson, royal blue, amethyst, gold and chocolate) and no two are alike. Soak yourself in your sleek tiled bathroom before sinking into your Egyptian cotton sheets after a day out in the capital. Bliss.
why we like it
Head to the Octagon Bar with, yes, eight sides, for an ideal afternoon or evening cocktail. This is Bono and The Edge’s favourite place to drink in Dublin (they own the place for a reason), so keep your eyes peeled for some A-list celebrity spotting. Reserve a table, or the bar’s famous ‘snug’ for an evening and enjoy something from their famous drinks list. Try a Russian Passion, made with a long list of fruity ingredients like melon liqueur and lychee syrup: it was the winner at the National Cocktail Championships 2009. We’re thirsty already…
