This may sound like the opening of a bad Christmas cracker joke, but we’re serious – you really can go on safari and see a polar bear.
We realised that many of you might have already seen big game in Africa, so we decided to come up with something unusual to track down in a country that most people might not have ventured into.
And we came up with a Polar Bear Safari by Train in Canada. After these awe-inspiring bears were declared officially endangered by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature last year, it struck us that it would be fantastic to see them in their natural environment among the frozen tundra.
So, we headed to Canada to try it and promptly fell in love. They may look impressive on television, but nothing can prepare you for seeing and hearing them in real life – it really is chilling.
We’ve sorted out a travel experience that will allow you to go out with a guide and hopefully see some polar bears feeding during the day, while staying in a luxurious lodge by night.
Not only this, but you can check out the Northern Lights too – perfect for a romantic holiday with a partner, we think.
As usual, you know where we are if you want to have a chat about this particular trip.
