description
Ever wanted to stay on your very own private Caribbean island? Well you don’t have to be a multi-millionaire (although sometimes it does help). Guana Island is a picturesque, unspoilt oasis in the Caribbean Sea, offering total privacy and barefoot luxury in a relaxed and pristine natural environment. This really is the perfect island escape if you want to get away from it all.
location
Situated in north east of the British Virgin Islands, Guana really does feel remote (you can only get there by boat) and with Caribbean Sea to the south and Atlantic Ocean to the north, combined with spectacular scenery and diverse wildlife, you’ll find it tough tearing yourself away.
your room
The island is privately-owned and run, offering accommodation in a mix of rustic cottages and modern villas. The cottages are charming, white-washed buildings with light wooden wicker furniture and bright blue shutters maintaining a relaxed colonial feel. Featuring incredible views over the Atlantic and Caribbean, the cottages also benefit from the cool breezes running through the island. The villas are slightly further from the main area around the restaurant, clubhouse and main terrace giving you even greater privacy and a more contemporary feel.
why we like it
Guana Island is the perfect little hideaway if you want to totally escape and switch off from reality. With space for a maximum of 36 people and no villages or public spaces on the island you’ll have little chance of bumping into someone (unless you really want to) and you’ll be able to enjoy any one of the seven pristine local beaches uninterrupted. You’ll really feel like you’ve been shipwrecked on your own.
Oh, and if you’re feeling really flash, you can book out the entire island to yourself.
