Only two days to go till New Zealand’s biggest music festival, Big Day Out, kicks off in Auckland before touring down under.
Big Day Out started off in Sydney back in 1992 before spreading across to Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast and finally New Zealand in 1994. At each city, venues hold seven to eight stages playing a range of music from rock to electronic and mainstream to local acts. Think Glastonbury but minus the chance of rain.
This year’s major headlines in Auckland are British acts Muse, Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal and New Zealand’s own Ladyhawke. This is definitely an event not to miss, and with tickets still available, you can make it just in time if you leave now.
