The Adrere Amellal is a spectacular desert property made up of 40 hand-built rooms located next to natural springs in the Egyptian desert. There is no electricity at the lodge meaning you’ll be living in total peace with no TV, no beeping phones or buzzing laptops, just utter desert silence and the natural light of the oil lamps to guide you back to your room at night.
location
The lodge is located in the Western Sahara near the Libyan border. Built into a cliff, and overlooking a saltwater lake with two spring-fed Roman pools, you’ll be relaxing in a true desert oasis. Here, the extraordinary turquoise blue waters bubble up from seemingly bottomless wells before trickling into a series of stone cisterns and onwards into the palm shaded gardens. Simply magical.

the simplicity of the bedroom
Each room at Adrere Amellal has been created from the simplest building materials of mud, salt and sand to create a truly authentic desert atmosphere. You won’t find any of the usual appliances just soft furnishings and the rooms are lit with beeswax candles to give an authentic feel.
