Usher in the New Year with a healthy glow on this detoxifying three-night getaway to Morocco. You’ll be staying in the lap of luxury at Palais Namaskar, a short drive from Marrakech, where beautiful surroundings and elegant interiors give a modern twist to traditional Islamic design. Couple ultimate relaxation and spa time with the buzz of North African culture for your perfect start to 2013.
Just for you
You’ll touch down at Marrakech Menara Airport and be whisked straight to your glamorous bolthole. Get your New Year detox kick-started with a tailor-made plan and a personal instructor – you’ll be back in pre-Christmas shape in no time. Then it’s time to relax and head to the spa for an afternoon session of holistic body and toning treatments. Enjoy signature therapies like a purifying hot stone Tibetan massage or an ionising scrub and mud wrap followed by a head and face massage as part of a balancing biorhythms experience. Feeling fully revitalised, take your place in the sumptuously furnished restaurant, Le Namaskar, for a tantalisingly delicious evening meal especially designed for you.
Medina madness
In the morning the buzz of Marrakech will call. There’s plenty to see and do in this vibrant city but to really appreciate the beauty of Islamic architecture of Morocco, we suggest visiting the opulent Bahia Palace or stunning Ben Youssef Medersa. When you can wait no longer, dive into the medina for some serious retail therapy. Get your bartering hat on and lose yourself in the warren of colourful souks heady with the scent of spices and tanned leather, then toast your successful purchases with a pot of refreshing mint tea.

A visit to Marrakech wouldn’t be complete without an evening meal in the main square. When the sun sinks below the horizon the Djemaa el Fna comes alive as row upon row of food stalls appear, filling the air with atmospheric smoke. Head to a busy stall and order whatever the locals are eating – then dig in and enjoy the theatre of the evening.
Sand and sky
Today is your chance to explore the region. You’re within easy reach of Morocco’s snow-topped mountain range so make the most of your time by taking to the sky for a thrilling helicopter ride over the towering Atlas Mountains. Round off your day with a cocktail by the Lake back at Palais Namaskar where the hotel’s quiet surroundings will allow you to reflect on the day’s adventures.
Get set, jet
For your final day in Morocco, we suggest visiting one of the hotel’s private hammams and indulging in an invigorating traditional bath and exfoliation. You’ll feel completely refreshed and ready for your inevitable flight home to reality.
