Whether it’s getting your hips moving to the rhythmic sounds of salsa or sending your taste buds into nirvana with fresh ceviche, Colombia is home to some of the most divine and unique sights and sounds in Latin America. On this particular seven-night immersion, we’ve rounded together our favourite, most dazzling, and most luxurious Cartagena experiences – think one-of-a-kind meals, exclusive rum tastings, sunset sailing, yoga breaks, and dreamy white-sand beaches and you’re on the right track.

Dance and Dine through Cartagena

Your Colombian love affair begins in the spellbinding city of Cartagena, where the pastel facades enclose some of Colombia’s best eateries. Let your gastronomical side step forward with a lunch reservation at Boliche Cebicheria – one of our beloved best-kept secrets. This quaint restaurant serves the freshest and most authentic fish dishes in the whole of Cartagena. Be sure to fuel up for an afternoon walking-tour, wandering the charming streets and learning of Cartagena’s colonial history. Before resting your head at the most luxurious hotel in the city, Casa San Agustin, a Caribbean meal at Restaurant Carmen is awaiting your arrival. Picture a flora and fauna filled courtyard where you can spend the entire evening dining on exquisite Michelin-worthy food.

Make this itinerary yours

Each and every Black Tomato trip is tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do So tell us about yourself and we’ll create something that’s entirely you.

Start Planning

Begin the next morning adjusting to the time-zone with a delightful, private yoga class. Once you feel rejuvenated and recharged, we’ve set you up with reservations at Cartagena’s most well-known ceviche joint, La Cevicheria. Sipping on a Pisco Sour will ease you into a fun and lively afternoon immersed in the essence of Latin America — beginning with a rum tasting. Learn how different varietals are processed, aged, and taste before lacing up your dancing shoes for a carefree evening learning to salsa dance. Revel in newly made memories and a newfound hobby with a dinner at Maria, a chic evening spot celebrated in Cartagena’s gastronomic scene.

Experience the Caribbean Blues

At this point, we anticipate you’ll be craving some time on the infamous azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. Board a 41-foot yacht and privately cruise to Tierra Bomba Island, home to Blue Apple Beach House. Whether you opt for a private massage, pool-side yoga, or lounging on beach hammocks, this beach house is your personal oasis for an entire day. Here you can sunbathe, swim and snorkel, basking in this sandy and sunny city-break. Enjoy a leisurely boat journey back into Cartagena, arriving in time for a Cuban meal at Cartagena institution La Vitrola. Tonight you’ll put your salsa lessons to use and visit several of the city’s most iconic bars, joining in with the locals and twirling through the late hours.

Sunscreen and Serenity

The energy of the city will now be replaced by the sound of the waves and the smell of fresh coconuts. Tayrona National Park, a treasured slice of the Carribean Coastline, is your playground for the next several days. Bursting with pristine beaches, secluded coves, and palm-tree lined lagoons, Tayrona is both beautiful and diverse. Your home base here is Villa Playa Tayrona, the epitome of beach-side luxury, furnished in airy, white décor and topped-off with an infinity pool overlooking the water. Bliss.

After ample time is spent kayaking and hiking through Tayronas rich natural environment, spend an afternoon exploring Pueblita and visiting an indigenous community. It’s the perfect end to your all-encompassing Colombian adventure. Having experienced the city and the coast, the rainforest and the rum, we’re confident Colombia’s vivacious energy will leave you with comical stories and unforgettable memories.
