Palace Hotel, Tokyo

Immerse yourself in Tokyo’s hustle and bustle pace of life but with the reassuring thought that you can unwind at the Palace Hotel Tokyo – Tokyo’s most prestigious address. Crafted under the meticulous and watchful eye of architect Terry McGinnity, it is sleek, serene and refined, accommodating 290 rooms and suites. It’s difficult not to melt into the luxury surroundings here.

LOCATION

A 60-minute transfer from Narita International Airport will bring you promptly to the doors. Situated in the Chiyoda-Ku district, it’s on the doorstep of the Imperial Palace, letting you take a hop, skip and a nose dive into Japan’s culture. A brisk 8-minute walk (or 2 minutes in a taxi) will see you at the platform ready to board the Bullet Train (to wherever your travelling desires may take you).

YOUR ROOM

Quality Japanese lines and muted colours decorate your room – McGinnity’s very own twist on Japanese feng-shui (after unwinding in your luxurious deluxe room you may not want to leave your king size bed). But once dusk settles on Tokyo, it begins to twinkle. You won’t be able to resist pulling yourself away from your duvet slumber to marvel at the lights of this vertical city from your own balcony. Being in the home of technology we hope to see some gadgets, and haven’t we been spoilt. Only in Japan would your bath be equipped with a waterproof LCD TV – and Blu-ray player for that matter.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Mind the cliché but what’s not to love? Luxury is literally dripping off of you once you enter its revolving doors. We think the view from the room is startling, and what better way to refresh and regenerate than to take advantage of the only Evian Spa in Japan, providing you with a palatial look over Tokyo’s concrete treetops.
