Welcome to our honeymoon page. We’ve set this up with the help of Black Tomato to tell you a little bit about our plans for our once in a lifetime lap of luxury trip. After the excitement and build up to the wedding we’ll be heading off to Greece for some quality down-time.
We will be flying out to the island of Santorini, the earthly paradise of dramatic caldera landscapes, sunbleached dwellings nestling into majestic cliffs, calm Aegean blue seas and picture-perfect sunsets in the southern Cyclades. We will be staying in the heavenly Santorini Grace, complete with our own private plunge pool and terrace.
It’s our intention to be as lazy as possible, but if we do manage to escape the charms of the Grace and its champagne breakfasts, Santorini has plenty to offer in the way of archaeological remains, 18th century monasteries, a beautiful and bustling harbour, quiet cliff-top towns with markets and tavernas, and, of course, staggering views wherever we look.
After five nights of pottering and pampering, we’ll be catching the ferry from the harbour to Mykonos for a little more of the same! Mykonos is a more northerly cousin of Santorini in the Cyclades, and combines the same bleached white architecture and natural beauty, but with a buzzing nightlife, dozens of pristine beaches and a playful port town, Chora, described as the St Tropez of Greece.

chora, the st tropez of greece
We will be staying for five nights at the Mykonos Grace, another intimate and luxurious island hideaway just north of Chora. Perched on a hillside overlooking the sheltered Agios Stefanos beach, it’s a white-swathed sugar-cube affair, built around a sparkling infinity pool with sweeping views of the beach below. We will no doubt indulge in a massage or two in their boutique spa, just in case we have over-done it in an all-night clubbing session (or, more likely, an achingly cool bar!) the night before.
After almost ten days relaxing in the gems of the Aegean it’ll be sad to leave, but we’ll be sure to take plenty of photos to remember our Greek indulgence and share it with you.
We are delighted that you’ll join us to celebrate our marriage and don’t expect any gifts other than your presence. However, if you still wish to give a present, we’ve set up a honeymoon registry for contributions to our trip. If you would like to contribute, please contact Carolyn at Black Tomato by either emailing carolyn@blacktomato.co.uk or calling her on 0207 426 9898, and please do leave your name and a message.
Thank you! We really will appreciate any contributions you make.
Love, Joanna and Michael
