The best places to visit in Argentina: Buenos AiresCooking class on a luxury Argentina family holiday

Landing in Buenos Aires, you’ll start your family holiday in Argentina exploring the vibrant city before heading off into the wilds. From the airport, you’ll be transferred to the Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, where complete with swimming pool, you’ll have the perfect city refuge. With so much to see in the city, you’ll head on a quintessentially Argentina tour with Black Tomato’s knowledgeable team of guides, starting with two of Argentina’s greatest passions – food and Tango. You’ll enjoy a hands-on cooking class where your family will learn to make tasty empanadas and try varieties of Helados, Argentina’s take on ice-cream. At night, we’ll then arrange for you to grab dinner and a Tango show. For budding dancers, we can also arrange lessons for the whole family.

For the next couple of days, we’ll show you the best of the city on a private tour according to the age and interests of your family. We’ll visit the best graffiti murals in La Boca and offer you and the family the chance to meet with a local Fileteado artist who will commission your own piece of custom-made art. A historic style recognized by UNESCO as part of Argentina’s Intangible Cultural Heritage, Fileteado uses a playful combination of colours, letters, and lines to offer an insight into the creative soul of La Boca.

For sports lovers, make sure to head to La Boca, the colourful neighbourhood that’s home to the famous Boca Juniors Football team. For a truly authentic city experience, we can arrange for you to watch a match at the home of Argentinian football, subject to the season’s fixture list. For dinner we’ll then arrange a closed-door Argentinian asado experience at Fogón Restaurante in Palermo, where a modern twist is spun on traditional dishes, or once the kids have settled down for the night, why not enjoy a private wine tasting experience with an expert sommelier to take you through the countries best Malbecs.

The best places to visit in Argentina: Bariloche

From Buenos Aires you’ll make the short two-hour flight down to Bariloche, Argentina’s epic Lake District set in the northern region of Patagonia. We’ll then whisk you to the peaceful retreat of Llao Llao, your base for the next four nights. Set on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, it’s the perfect family-friendly base for a range of exciting outdoor activities. Surrounded by nothing but pristine nature you can do as little or as much as you desire. We recommend getting out on the lake with a private guide and enjoying a kayaking adventure where you’ll split off in a scenic and secluded location for a picnic lunch.
