Manchebo Resort has a few things to boast about – friendly staff, a peaceful secluded atmosphere and a spa on the beach, to name a few – but its prime positioning directly on a flawless beach is probably the jewel in its crown. With 72 luxurious ocean and garden view rooms, this boutique resort is where to put your sandy feet up after a hard day spent catching rays and paddling in the ocean.
A five-minute drive from the picturesque downtown area of Oranjestad and ten minutes from the airport, getting to and from Manchebo Resort is plain sailing. The resort lies on the west coast of the island and, as Aruba is compact enough to travel around easily, within reach of Arikok National Park in the south-east for adventure and close to the capital for a dash of culture.
Contemporary and comfortable, the Manchebo’s rooms channel the beach vibe of neutral colours with splashes of turquoise so you never feel too far from the Caribbean. All mod-cons are to hand and even better, the resort has won awards for its commitment to going green – the new black, in case you hadn’t heard.
Why we like it
The gym walls will never look the same again now that we’ve had a yoga class on the resort’s own yoga deck looking out at the deep blue sea and palm trees swaying in the breeze – we’re officially boycotting exercise in any other setting from now on.
