What if treehouses came with private balconies and panoramic views over miles of flawless mountains and untouched tropical wetland? Well, in North Queensland they do. Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat is a gorgeous rustic hideaway perfect for those looking to escape everyday life and immerse yourself in the tranquil settings of North Queenslands bush.
Under an hour and a half from Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, Rose Gums provides a royal roost that errs on the adventure luxury side of eco-friendly. Swing down from your treetop hideaway (not literally) and head out in search of platypus, cassowary or the sulphur-crested white cockatoo.
Up in the rafters, you’ll feel as though the spectacular view was put together just for you. Private balconies, giant bath tubs and complete privacy mean a treetop experience you’ll never forget.
Why we like it
We loved the setting. Who wouldn’t? Spectacular birdlife meets spectacular scenery in this lush green luxurious enclave of North Queensland. A short journey from the beautiful waterfalls of Millaa Millaa, the lakes of Yunguburra and the Tropical Tablelands of Atherton, there’s no more picture perfect perch than the pole and timber of Rose Gums. Tarzan himself would be speechless.
