This small Central American gem is full of surprises. With dozens of fascinating ancient historical sites, hundreds of awe-inspiring natural formations, thousands of intriguing wildlife species and a ton of tempting tropical beaches, we’re certain that you’ll never want to leave this slice of heaven. So kick back and enjoy the ride as you tour Belize in style, stopping off at some of the country’s most luxurious accommodation along the way.

Step back in time

Touchdown at Belize’s international airport and instantly be whisked away to the eco-friendly Chaa Creek hotel and your luxuriously secluded private villa, whose modern comforts make a striking comparison against the green rainforest backdrop. Equipped with an infinity pool and spectacular views over the ever-green canopy, Chaa Creek makes for an ideal refuge after a long day of exploring. And exploring is what you shall do.

Boarding Belize’s Western neighbour, Guatemala, is the stunning district of Cayo whose rich and dense rainforests are home to dozens of ancient archaeological treasures. So come day two, you’ll be off to some of the region’s most recognised sites, including Xunantunich and San Ignacio. Built by the ancient Maya civilisation, the well-preserved Xunantunich dates back to the 9th century and is one of Belize’s most popular historical sites.

Natural glory

Cayo is home to some of the world’s most incredible tropical species, most notably a diverse variety of butterflies. Prepare to learn all about these beautiful creatures with help from a private tour guide, before heading to Barton creek where you’ll take to the water to discover the stunningly intricate crystal formations. Armed with your own canoe and torch, you’ll get the chance to glide through a Mayan cave, while experts explain why these geological structures were so important to ancient Belize civilisations.

Meet and greet

Next, you’re off to the Maya village of San Antonio, home to both the Mopan and the Yucatec Maya tribes. Witness first-hand what life is like for these communities, as you meet and interact with them, all while your private guide enlightens you on their fascinating histories. Afterwards you’ll be heading to Caracol, Belize’s largest archaeological site, containing over 35,000 ancient buildings. Here you’ll be able to spend the afternoon roaming through some of its five plazas, three temples, observatory and pyramid, with help from your local and knowledgeable private guide.

Exploring can be tiring work, which is why day five is dedicated to you and you only. Choose from wandering through local towns, or spend the day at the tempting Chaa Creek’s spa, whose indulgent al fresco massages and oils are inspired by Cayo’s natural surroundings.

Island life

Prepare to see another side to Belize come day six, as you fly from its dense jungle land to its tropical Caribbean coast. You’ll be flying to the island of Ambergris Caye, before being transferred to the picturesque beachside hotel; Victoria House Hotel, where for four nights you’ll be taking up residence in one of their stunningly chic cabanas with private views and access to the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.

Get into the swing of island life over the next few days by slowing down the tempo and passing the time by sunbathing, sipping on cocktails and enjoying water sports. Why not spend an afternoon discovering the beauty of the island’s submerged marine life as you snorkel around Hol chan and Shark Ray Alley (thankfully home to the harmless nurse shark). But don’t even think about leaving this tropical paradise without a trip to the country’s famous ‘Great Blue Hole’. Best seen by plane, this mysterious submarine hole is one of earth’s most intriguing natural wonders and a once in a lifetime sight, making it the perfect air-borne finale to an incredible trip.
