It’s time to look at Whistler from another perspective. Through the rose-tinted spectacles of summer, in fact. For whilst Whistler is indeed a world-class ski resort, it is also a hive of incredible experiences come the warmer months, thanks to its roaring rivers, soaring mountains, indigenous wildlife, luxurious properties and fresh cuisine. A place that can be enjoyed by travellers of all ages, we couldn’t recommend it enough for that perfect holiday. And if you’re wondering what that perfect holiday will look like, it’ll look at little like this…
TOUCH DOWN, AND UP AGAIN
You’ll be kick-starting your luxe trip to Whistler with a float-plane transfer. That’s right, as soon as you touch down in Vancouver, you’ll be transferred to another (albeit much smaller and more exciting) aircraft for the final leg of your journey to your end destination. Instead of driving along it, you’ll gaze down at the Sea to Sky Highway, and we’ll even have the pilot give you a bit of a detour so you can really comprehend the incredible natural beauty and wondrous expanse of Canada’s West Coast. Lush alpine meadows and dramatic peaks will roll out before you, so that by the time you land you’ll appreciate just how much excitement is to come over the next few days…Read more
BEARS AT SUNRISE
One of Whistler’s most memorable summer experiences is bear watching, and heading out at sunrise to find them is an exciting way to start your day. We’ll have a private car collect you from your hotel and then you’ll begin your journey into the wilderness of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Travel through ancient forests and learn all about the beautiful flora and fauna around you, all the while keeping an eye out for the local population of Black Bears as they quietly forage for berries. With your knowledgeable guide to lead the way, your chances of a viewing are almost guaranteed.
When back in Whistler Village, it’ll be time to refuel after your early start. A lunch at Alta Bistro will have been arranged for you, where you can enjoy seasonal French cuisine. Fill up and then head back out to walk off your meal amongst the stunning landscapes Whistler is so known for. Hop on the gondola, lose yourself in wildflower meadows and clamber along mountainsides, watching out for the daring mountain bikers as they descend near-vertical cliff faces. A must-try experience in Whistler, we’ll also have some bikes reserved for you so you can try your hand at downhill mountain biking too.
On another of your days, we’ll arrange something truly unique for you. A bobsleigh on wheels, to be exact. Climb aboard and prepare for total exhilaration as a professional bobsleigh pilot steers you through a series of twists and turns at speeds of up to 90 kilometres per hour. Hurtling down such iconic tracks won’t be an experience you’ll forget in a hurry.
Not feeling up for the adrenaline? Not to worry. Let us know which spa treatment you’d most like to indulge in and we’ll switch this itinerary from adventurous to relaxing. The Four Seasons Whistler is home to what’s been voted as the best spa in Canada – and this is where we’ll have you enjoying hours of utter serenity. Move from Zen relaxation lounge to hot stone massage and immerse yourself in a truly exclusive experience. With lungs full of fresh mountain air, you’ll be feeling completely de-stressed in no time at all.
Away from the heights of the mountain peaks, you’ll discover a plethora of picturesque and inviting lakes where you can enjoy an array of wonderful activities. Stand Up Paddle-board or Kayak across sheltered lakes surrounded by stunning forests and meadows. Feast on a gourmet picnic and look out for indigenous wildlife. And if you’re feeling confident on your board, why not experience the meaning of serenity with a private SUP Yoga lesson in amongst Whistler’s incredible beauty? Back on dry land, you’ll no doubt be feeling sun kissed and content, ready for your final night dinner at Araxi Restaurant and Oyster Bar. Whistler’s best restaurant will prove to be the perfect setting for a farewell dinner, and whilst you’ll be sad to leave your new favourite summertime spot, you’ll rejoice in the knowledge you can always come back…
