Adjacent to the Jinbao river, tucked between the famous Moon Hill and Big Banyan in the sleepy village of Fenglou lies the Moondance Resort. A perfect retreat, Moondance stays true to its roots in adopting a traditional Chinese style. This, teamed with the beauty of the hotel’s surroundings, provides its guests with a memorable stay in a truly Chinese setting.
The location of Moondance resort is breathtaking. Offering its guests stunning views of both the Jinbao River and the surrounding mountains, you’ll love the secluded position of this property. A comfortable 8km from Yangshuo town, Moondance is only 15 minutes from Darongshu and Yangshuo Coach Terminal and a mere one hour drive from Guilin airport, so it’s both convenient and beautiful.
This small boutique hotel only has 12 bedrooms so you’re guaranteed a degree of serenity and peace. All of the rooms have been decorated with the traditional Chinese style in mind, and you even get your own pair of slippers. Alongside this traditional decor, Moondance treats its guests to a few luxuries, such as rain showers in the bathrooms, flat screen TVs, WiFi and a private balcony from which you can enjoy those beautiful views.
Why we like it
The best thing about Moondance has to be its incredible setting, so we loved that we could hire a bike from reception to explore the stunning surroundings. There’s also a flooded road nearby which is great fun to cycle through if you don’t mind getting wet, but if you’d prefer to stay dry, it’s just as fun watching the motorists and cyclists splashing past. And when you’re worn out from bike riding? You’ll love that you can settle down to enjoy the panoramic views from your private balcony.
