Colombia

A view from Tayrona National Park

If only Monday blues were less about longing for the weekend and more about splashing around in the blue hued waters of Tayrona National Park. A day spent on a Colombian beach? Now that’s the sort of Monday we can cope with.

If you’re reading this, the likelihood is that you’re not one of the lucky ones lying on the beach right now. You can, however, spend a few moments dreaming about it. It’s the least you deserve on a weekday, right? Right. So forget about work for a minute and picture this…

150 square kilometres of luscious, overgrown jungle framed by clear blue seas and golden sands. Gently lapping waves and swaying palms. The heat of the sun on your skin and a whole day ahead of nothing but outdoor exploration.

You’ve just pictured Tayrona National Park. Sounds idyllic, doesn’t it? And hidden within this scene is Cabo San Juan, our favourite spot for a day or two of pure relaxation. Smooth rocks shelter this calm bay and temperate waters lap its soft sandy shores. The atmosphere is calm and the surroundings incomparably beautiful. Just half an hour from Santa Marta; paradise is rarely as accessible as this.

Almost forget those blues for a moment? Us too…
