Ritz Paris

Right in the heart of The City of Love sits its most prestigious and historic hotel. The Ritz Paris needs no introduction but we’re going to give it one anyway. Decked out with neoclassical glamour, staying in one of the Ritz 142 rooms or suites is like stepping back to a bygone era, Louis XVI’s 17th century France, Ernest Hemingway’s post-war Europe and Coco Chanel’s chic mid- 20th century Paris all in one lavish building. With the incredibly exclusive Michelin- starred restaurant L’Espadon, the wonderfully intimate Bar Hemingway and the world’s only Chanel Spa, the Ritz Paris is the crème de la crème in every possible way. You will struggle to find a European city hotel more illustrious than the timeless Ritz.

Your Location

Only a few streets behind the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées the Ritz Paris is the ideal base for a really special city break. It is an hour and 15-minute drive from Charles de Gaulle Airport and only a 20-minute drive from Gare du Nord train station for those coming by Eurostar. The Louvre and Galeries Lafayette are both within walking distance if you fancy a day of art and shopping, and further away sights such as Sacre-Coeur, the Eiffel Tower and the Notre-Dame can be reached easily by Paris Metro.

Your room

The 142 rooms have been decorated in a delicate but opulent neoclassical style and the attention to detail is hard to miss. Using subtle pastel shades, velvet sofas, marble fireplaces, chandeliers and stylish antiques it is obvious why the Ritz has retained its impeccable reputation as the essence of luxury.  All the suites have been decorated with fine silk and some have quaint shaded terraces overlooking the French garden.

Why we like it

The Ritz Paris is undeniably the epitome of European glamour with a reputation as the favourite hang-out of artistic legends and royalty. The likes of Coco Chanel, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Charlie Chaplin and the Duke and Duchess of Windsor all frequented this grand hotel and have had suites named after and styled after them. We highly recommend sleeping in the glamorous Chanel suite if you prefer a more modern take on timeless luxury. The cherry on top of this already rather grand cake is Bar Hemingway. Named after César Ritz’s good friend Ernest Hemingway, it is the jewel of this hotel, a wonderfully intimate place to go for your evening cocktails that is not to be missed.
