The next day you’ll explore East Berlin and the notorious Berlin Wall. For foodies we’ll let you in on our favourite eateries and cocktail bars to sample the best of Berlin’s nightlife. For shoppers and contemporary art galleries we’ll take you to up-coming local favourites such as Auguststrasse for a spot of gallery hopping.

Make this itinerary yours

Each and every Black Tomato trip is tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do So tell us about yourself and we’ll create something that’s entirely you.

Start Planning

After three nights in Berlin you’ll take an first class train ride from Berlin to Dresden, a hidden gem and one of Germany’s most enticing cities, often referred to as the “Florence on the Elbe river”. Here you’ll be able to explore classical culture and the architectural treasures of this former royal capital of Saxony with an expert local guide at hand. Tonight you’ll hole up at the Relais & Châteaux Hotel Bülow Palais.

Black Forest discoveries

From Dresden you’ll take a short flight to Stuttgart where you’ll be met by your chauffeur and taken to the Hotel Traube Tonbach close to the Black Forest National Park. Tonight you can enjoy dinner at Traube Tonbach’s rustic Bauernstube Restaurant and sample the famous Black Forest Gateaux. For the next couple of days you’ll explore the Black Forest and its surroundings with your own personal guide, experiencing the countless highlights of the region. From the largest walk-in cuckoo clock of the world to some of the most scenic vistas and valleys of the region, or visiting the open-air museum Vogtsbauernhof – you’ll be awakened to the beauty and splendor of this region.

Zeppelin highs

Today your private driver will take you through scenic landscapes until you reach Lake Constance (approx. 2 ½ hours). In Friedrichshafen you ‘ll enjoy a private Zeppelin flight experience, a totally unique and historical way to see the Alpine landscapes. For an hour you’ll soar above Lake Constance, champagne in hand, and gain a new perspective from 1.000ft altitude whilst learning all about the stunning feat of engineering. In the evening you’ll enjoy dinner at the mouthwatering, Michelin Starred Hotel Villino Restaurant.

Castle country

After breakfast your private driver will take you to Oberammergau past one of the most beautiful German castles – Castle Neuschwanstein. Once home to King Ludwig II, this true fairy tale castle was the inspiration for Walt Disney’s interpretation of a European castle. From here you can also visit Linderhof Castle, another magnificent and stunning castle of King Ludwig II. For the next two nights you’ll hole up in one of our favourite hideaways, Schloss Elmau, a spa retreat hidden away in the calm of the Bavarian Alps.

Having been left spellbound by Bavaria, it’s time to head to Munich. Your driver will take you to the Zugspitze, where you’ll take a ride to the top of the mountain and enjoy breathtaking view from Germany’s highest peak.  After this exhilarating visit, your private driver/guide will take you to Munich, the proud Bavarian capital. Our guide will show you around the Bavarian capital, including a visit to the market squares of Karlplatz and the buzzing Viktualienmarkt as well as the beautiful Frauenkirche, Munich’s most important church. For history aficionados, be sure to visit the Feldherrnhalle on the Odeansplatz a site of true historical importance of the Second World War.

For a unique highlight, we recommend taking a trip down to the unforgettable BMW Museum, where you’ll have the chance to test drive a series of newest releases. Whether you’re a car-lover or not, you’ll be guaranteed to be mesmerized by this incredible experience and feat of engineering brilliance. Tonight we’re taking you to Hofbrauhaus to experience Munich’s dining scene, where you’ll tickle your taste buds with Bavarian cuisine and wash it down with their famous brewed beer. For your final few days you will have time at leisure to further explore the wonders of Munich before catching your return flight home.
