Four Seasons Resort Langkawi

A luxurious getaway in the heart of a natural paradise, Four Seasons Resort Langkawi has an undeniable allure. A mile-long swathe of pristine sands fringes the untouched beauty of a UNESCO Geopark. Gourmet cuisine is plated up in traditional surroundings through local recipes. 91 pavilions and villas conceal refined style and elegance amid a verdant canopy and serene beachfront. Kayaks drift through mangroves and X-Jetblades soar above the sea. This is a hotel whose beauty comes from its contrasts being balanced just so, so as to create something quite extraordinary.

Location

Langkawi is just one of three inhabited islands in an archipelago of 99 scattered across the Andaman Sea. Catch a short flight from either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore and it’s then just a quick 25-minute drive from Langkawi International Airport to the resort. With the choice of sparkling waters or verdant jungles on your doorstep, there is never a dull moment at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi. Start the day on a mangrove and eagle safari in the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park or hiking the uninhabited island of Pulau Langgun, before winding down in the four-in-one pool or reconnecting with the earth’s elements in the Geo Spa.

Your Room

Sitting snugly within tropical gardens or opening up onto deserted sands, the 91 pavilions and villas at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi epitomise peace and tranquility. Exteriors tell a tale of traditional Malay design, whilst within, every modern convenience has been considered with Family Beach Villas even featuring Playstation and Xbox to keep children entertained. For those looking for a home from home in paradise, the villas are simply irresistible with their private pools and beachfront access.

Why we like it

Dining at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi is so much more than a meal but a journey through Malay culture over the years. Each of the three restaurants here offers a completely different experience, but to really get to know Malay cuisine, it has to be the Taste of Langkawi experience. Start your day with one of the resort’s resident naturalists, picking up ingredients from the local market and organic farm, before stopping for a local breakfast of roti canai. You’ll then return to the hotel to whip up a feast of local delicacies before rounding off the day at the night market, tucking into local snacks and tropical fruits. Heady with the scent of Durian, this is one local delicacy that simply has to be tasted.
