Seven Terraces, Penang

After entering this magical and timeless abode you will never want to leave. Nestled on a quaint island called Penang on the Northwest coast of Malaysia this tropical haven is romantic, timeless and beautiful. Decorated with ornate Asian furniture the style is traditional with a touch of chic modern design. For those seeking sanctuary and a dreamy holiday abroad then look no further, Seven Terraces will not disappoint. With only 18 suites, this peaceful getaway is surrounded by unspoiled white soft sand and tranquil beaches perfect for relaxing.

Location

Penang is a turtle shaped Tropical Island off the Malaysian Peninsular and being a UNESCO World Heritage site there are plenty of things to do. Take a trip to the bustling port which is host to ancient streets, temples and a variety of different cultures which offer a fusion of foods and experiences. The island holds customs of Indian, Chinese and Malaysian cultures which creates a perfect amalgam of old and new. If this does not take your fancy stroll down to the sandy beaches from your hotel and partake in some sunbathing, windsurfing or snorkelling. Or embark on a cultural journey and follow the heritage trail to see the inner city of Georgetown on foot visiting museums and mosques. A half an hour private transfer from the Penang national airport will lead you to this resort.

Your room

Suites are all decorated in a similar style, with Chinese hand carved beds all rooms are fitted with exquisitely made Peranakan antique furniture with artworks filling the rooms. All rooms surround the elegant Chinese granite courtyard and some suites even have their own decks where you can relax under the moonlight sky or gaze upon the beautiful Georgian church. The rooms are charming and unassuming and offer a relaxed and romantic atmosphere.

Why we like it?

Not only does the island have a large range of activities, the hotel itself is not short of things to do; enjoy a body massage in your room, take a trip to the hotel boutique and admire the antique furniture or learn how to cook like a Malaysian with the hotel chefs. And after a busy day of activities be sure to visit the restaurant, which offers a mixture of Indian, Chinese and Malaysian cuisine which have been refined using French cooking techniques. This will be a holiday never to forget.
