How long

7 nights ideal length

We all need a little TLC from time to time, and with this in mind, we’ve created the ultimate pick-me-up beach and spa escape to Oman and the Maldives. What could be more enticing than seven nights spa hopping with Six Senses? Recline in the Omani sun with a stay at Six Senses Zighy Bay before moving to the Maldives for some beach bliss at Six Senses Laamu.

YOUR SHOW-STOPPING ENTRANCE

Arriving in Dubai you’ll be met at the airport ready for your transfer to your beachside hideaway, Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman. Sure you can opt for the traditional chauffeur car journey, but why would you when you can choose something so adventurous with the panache of James Bond? To kick start your holiday off with a touch of the wow-factor you can paraglide in over the bay (with the guidance of a professional, of course) where you’ll land gracefully on the golden sands, or perhaps ride shotgun on a private speed boat and whip across the clear waters of the Arabian Sea.

Once you’ve made your grand entrance you’ll be shown to your private villa and introduced to your personal butler. Take some time to succumb to your new surroundings, and what luxury surroundings they are. The Musandam Peninsula secludes the bay from the outside world, so you really can leave all your troubles far behind.

ZIGHY AND AWAY

If you feel like doing a little exploring then you are in the right place, three nights at Six Senses Zighy Bay won’t seem enough when you see the wealth of activities to try your hand at. Upon arrival, you can plan your personal activity list (if you want to partake in anything that is). Our top Zighy tips include dabbling in some hiking trails around the Peninsula, or for a slower paced life perhaps board a sunset cruise around the bay. For something a little more daring book onto one of the numerous scuba diving jaunts or jump on a 4×4 off-roader to explore the nearby villages. For a unique taste of Omani culture take a tour of the mystic souks and explore the market stalls, where you’ll be met by a sensory overload of sights, smells, and sounds.

If you are in the mindset of simply taking it easy (we don’t blame you) then indulge at the Six Senses Spa. With a list of treatments of both regional and Six Senses signature, it’s tempting to try them all. Our favourite is part of their ‘Spa Journey’ – the Bamboo Massage. An ancient South East Asian technique that uses bamboo sticks to bring relief to your neck, shoulders, back and legs. The bamboo represents good luck, a long life, friendship, peace and harmony. It’s possibly the best deep tissue massage we’ve ever had.

LUSCIOUS LAAMU

From one paradise to the next (it’s a hard life) you’ll fly from Oman to the pristine shores of the Maldives where you’ll arrive by sea plane to check into Six Senses Laamu. It’s a bold sentence, but it could possibly be the closest to paradise we’ve ever been. The turquoise waters are postcard worthy, coral teeming with wildlife and you can choose to have a villa hovering over the lagoon or peeking through the tropical foliage.

Being on a secluded island there is plenty to do. Take to the waves for a spot of surfing, venture into the ocean on a guided snorkelling with a marine biologist, or take a ride out into the Indian Ocean on a dolphin safari. After all that it’s time to pamper yourself in the Six Senses Spa. Five treatment rooms and four stunning branched nests line the beach front. The private cocoons host an impressive menu from the coconut oil, ginger, clove and nutmeg of Laamu Bliss to the Kurumbaa Kaashi Coconut Rub with its organic honey and papaya wrap – where do we sign up?

For an evening activity gaze at the stars with the islands own astronomer. Get a closer look at the moon and planets that grace our skies. And keeping to the starry evening theme, dine on the beach with cushions on the sand instead of chairs with just the moon and candles to light your table. Possibly the perfect way to end the ultimate spa hopping escape.
