Casa Fayette, Guadalajara

Grupo Habita is changing the face of the small hotels sector, and their latest addition to their trendy and forward-thinking collection is no exception. Set in the epicenter of the thriving Lafayette district in Guadalajara, Casa Fayette is not just a hotel. It’s striking and cutting edge design combines old with the new to form a completely unique place to stay and become part of the community. With only 37 rooms in total, staying here is an intimate experience and insight into Guadalajaran life.

Location

Take a half hour drive from the airport to reach your hotel and relax by the pool with a cocktail before heading out to explore your surroundings. Right in the heart of Guadalajara’s up-and-coming Lafayette region, this original 20s mansion is surrounded by trendy cafés, restaurants and art galleries. The metropolis itself is a blend of three cities, so you couldn’t be closer to a cocktail of culture. It is, after all, the birthplace of many of Mexico’s traditions, including the world-famous and UNESCO recognised mariachi tradition.

Your room

Comprising of 37 guest rooms and suites, Casa Fayette’s room décor features coloured-glass panels that complement the minimalist theme running through this hotel. Famed Milanese firm Dimorestudio have handpicked every piece of bespoke furniture. Marble, wood and artisanal cement tiles reflect the eclectic neighbourhood just outside the hotel’s doors, a key passion of Carlos Couturier, one of Grupo Habita’s owners. We love the majestic claw-foot baths for you to spend hours soaking in, surrounded by the finest Carrara marble and mirrors.

Why we like it

We’re inspired by how future-focused this hotel is and its prime position in regenerating the local area. In an effort to combat traffic and congestion, Casa Fayette offers bikes for its guests to explore the surroundings. Not only is this an environmentally friendly way to get around, it’s also great fun – just one of many incentives that make this new kid on the block stand out from the otherwise tradition hotel crowd.
