Skeleton Coast Camp
Skeleton Camp allows you to immerse yourself into a truly desolate wilderness, that few have been lucky enough to experience. Flying into this luxury camp will have you mesmerised as you begin your exploration of this hidden corner of the world. Enjoy game drives, beach drives, shipwreck exploration, stunning towering canyons, beautiful saltpans, and simply breathtaking scenery.
location
Within its own private concession area in the 300,000 hectares of National Park, the Skeleton Coast Camp is totally exclusive. The camp is situated inland from the stark, beautiful shoreline peppered with whalebones and other skeletal remains, as well as the ghostly debris of bygone shipwrecks. It is a wild, desolate environment, sitting in one of the most inhospitable yet hauntingly beautiful places in the world. The scenic offerings are diverse, from magnificent sand dunes and windswept plains to freshwater springs.
your room
Each of the six luxury tents has individual heating and cooling controls, bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, direct dial phones, 24-hour room service, electric razor plugs, minibars, hair dryers, DS TV and a balcony. You’ll dine in the shade of an old, gnarled Leadwood tree which offers shelter from the elements, and spend your time travelling across harsh, rugged terrain in the camp’s 4×4 vehicles. A central area is made up of an open-plan lounge, bar and dining area with sweeping views of the desert.
why we like it
Unbeatable luxury in the middle of one of the world’s most inhospitable places is hard to pull off, but boy, they do it well at the Skeleton Camp. Staying here is a truly life-enhancing experience.
