Morgan’s Rock

A luxurious hacienda and eco-lodge on a private beach fringed by the Nicaraguan jungle, Morgan’s Rock is a true escape to nature. A secluded paradise, admire dramatic sunsets that disappear into the vast Pacific Ocean, giving way to a blanket of twinkling stars above. The surrounding forest adds indispensable privacy and peace to each of the barefoot beach shack bungalows. Sitting on a cliff top overlooking the bay and estuary, the views you’ll be waking up to simply cannot be beaten.

Location

Set on a beautiful sweeping tropical bay, Morgan’s Rock is part of a green movement that encompasses extensive tree conservation and reforestation projects reaching over 1,800 hectares along the Pacific. Get up close to the jungle and nature, in a tropical rainforest with every turn buzzing with native animals such as the capuchin monkey, deer and howler. Enjoy the enormity of your surroundings with a sunset walk along the beach and up the northern coastal hill taking in stunning views of the sun as it sinks below the horizon. An explorer’s paradise, you can also venture further afield on a day trip to Ompete Island or the cloud forest surrounding Mombacho volcano.

Your room

Shrouded by the jungles, getting to your private bungalow is an adventure in itself where you’ll cross an 110-metre suspension bridge over a forested canyon – it’s the definition of wow-factor. Barefoot luxury is the theme here with your bungalow coming complete with a king-sized bed, private deck with swinging daybed (perfect for sundowners) and beautiful interiors full of handmade furniture made by local artisans from exotic national woods like Almendro, Caoba and Cedro. Better still, being west-facing you can guarantee the best sunsets too.

Why we like it

The way to our heart has always been through our bellies. A functioning hacienda, a large majority of the food served at Morgan’s Rock is produced on the farm, whilst the fish comes straight out of the surrounding ocean. Could it get any better, or fresher, than this? We don’t think so.
