Fly like a bird

Touch down in Cape Town where we will be on hand to whisk you off to The Silo Hotel, your stylish base for this adventure. Once a concrete grain silo, now one of the most stylish and architecturally innovative hotels we’ve ever come across, The Silo is not just a hotel, but a piece of contemporary art. Boasting unparalleled views of Table Mountain from its rooftop tempura bar, The Silo will have you floating on cloud nine, quite appropriate for a paragliding trip.

Make this itinerary yours

Each and every Black Tomato trip is tailored exactly to who you are and what you want to do So tell us about yourself and we’ll create something that’s entirely you.

Start Planning

You will hit the ground running, literally, as you’re taken on your first tandem paragliding flight over Cape Town with your expert guide to get to grips with the air-borne sport. Soar over Cape Town and get a glorious and totally unique bird’s-eye view of the city and Table Mountain. Once you’ve had your fill of paragliding, we’ll take you on a guided hike up Table Mountain to soak in the spectacular views at sunset. As night descends we’ll let you in on a few of our favourite restaurants and evening hangout spots where you can try some of the innovative Cape Town cuisine and refuel for the day ahead.

City soaring and sand-dune skimming

Head out of Cape Town with your guide to visit some more remote paragliding sites to get an alternative perspective on South Africa. Here, you’ll get to put your skills to the test as you try your hand at cross-country tandem flying and dune-skimming. You’ll also be given an exclusive mini-course on ground handling with pull-up wings that our guides manufactured themselves. This is a truly unique experience that you cannot get anywhere else, or with anyone else for that matter.

From the dunes you’ll travel to the coastal town of Hermanus, where you and your glider will soar over the coast, keeping your eyes peeled for Southern Right Whales. On the final day of your paragliding adventure, you will be returning to the skies of Cape Town with one final tandem paragliding flight over the city- what a way to say goodbye. At this point, we’re sure you’ll have really got the hang of it and won’t want the trip to end.
