The Lalu
The Lalu leads the way in sleek, Zen-style hotel design. With the help of award-winning Australian architect, Kerry Hill, the Lalu seamlessly blends traditional Asian with contemporary architecture, putting it on the map of luxury design hotels. Its emphasis on lighting and space is magnified by its commanding views over the majestic Sun Moon Lake, making your stay here as relaxing and rejuvenating as ever.
location
Situated at the foot of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range, the Lalu is near the town of Yuchi, a 1.5 hour drive from Taichung domestic airport. The surrounding area offers the chance to explore its temples, garden and ancient towers, and for the more adventurous, a hike up into its stunning mountains.
your room
At Lalu there are 98 rooms, suites and villas to ensure your stay is luxurious and personal. The Lake View suite is large, spacious and airy giving you expansive views of the lake from every room. The lounge comes with an open fire to keep you warm on chillier nights and a balcony with a large day bed provides the perfect place to get stuck into a book or watch the sun set into the lake. The Courtyard Villa is simply paradise. Enclosed by a 3 meters tall bamboo wall, you are ensured complete privacy during your stay. A tranquil 12 meter pool is located within your courtyard to cool off during those hot summer days. For the ultimate luxurious stay, hole up in the Presidential suite. This isn’t a suite but a home for your holiday which includes a bedroom, lounge, reading room, dining room, and kitchen. Expect soft silk walls, Chinese antiques and breathtaking views.
why we like it
The Lalu’s alpine setting with panoramic views over the mystical lake makes it perfect for a tranquil getaway. We love the contemporary design and unforgettable 60 meter infinity pool, making this resort a true Asian gem. Serenity, simplicity and elegance – what more could you need?
