I went from a law degree to diving in the Philippines. It’s not an obvious leap, but it’s the one that meant the most to me – swapping stuffy courtrooms for underwater reefs. Later, I’d island-hop around Indonesia, feeling so at home that I’d settle in Australia and New Zealand, where I lived for over a year.

Today, as a Travel Expert, my areas of specialism are the Middle East and Latin America – the latter resulting from a series of journeys that saw me visit Chile’s Atacama Desert, the wilds of Argentine Patagonia, and the mist-shrouded rainforests of Costa Rica. I work with travelers to bring these places to life in ways they didn’t think were possible, avoiding tourist ‘traps’ and crowds. It’s about taking people deeper. Over the years, I’ve formed close relationships with our guides across the region. I may be an ‘expert’, but I keep myself very humble before them. After all, they’re the ones who help me pick the choicest new places – and the best properties and hotels – out of the mix. It’s a collaboration that, ultimately, benefits you – and the trips you take with us.
