Welcome to our honeymoon page
We’ve set this page up with the help of Black Tomato to tell you a little about our plans for our special trip in June. After all the excitement and build up to the wedding, we’ll be heading off on a truly amazing trip to Zambia, Botswana and South Africa where we can completely immerse ourselves in the wonderful culture and beautiful natural surroundings over there. We’ve set up this honeymoon donation page (aka the honeypot) for our friends and family who wish to donate towards our honeymoon. This will be the trip of a lifetime and a memory we will cherish forever, so we would love to think that our friends and family have helped to make it happen.
Here is what we have planned…
Our honeymoon begins in Zambia, where will spend our first night at Tongabezi Lodge – a hideaway on the
banks of the Zambezi River, the perfect place to unwind and visit the mighty Victoria Falls. Next up we’ll be heading to the beautiful Savute Safari Lodge for two nights, where the wildlife is in abundance and activities range from game drives throughout the Savute area in open 4×4 safari vehicles and visits to the ancient San rock paintings at Gubatsa Hills.
Our next destination will be Xugana Island Lodge, situated on a tiny island in the Xugana Lagoon – a spectacular permanent water site in the Okavango Delta in Botswana which in the midst of the Kalahari sands, is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. Here we’ll be able to explore the Delta by canoe (mokoro), combined with walking on surrounding islands in the concession. It’s the perfect place to experience a classic Okavango Delta safari.
Next up, South Africa. After a night spent in Johannesburg, we’ll be heading off to the Madikwe Game Reserve, where we’ll spend the next 3 nights in one of the most amazing retreats, Madikwe Hills, with glass-fronted suites boasting views out over the reserve. Madikwe is South Africa’s second largest game reserve in the rolling hills of the North West. Everything from lions and elephants to the more rare white rhinos and African wild dogs live here, ensuring a rare and breath-taking safari experience.
