A sunrise Hot Air Balloon ride will make getting up early all worth it. Imagine waking before dawn on a cool summer morning, and welcoming in the new day drifting over the Rocky Mountains in a floating hot air balloon. Launch from the Snowmass Recreation Centre shortly after sunrise (at a time of day with the lowest, most stable winds) and soar above the Roaring Fork Valley, exploring the stunning expanses of Aspen and Snowmass from the air. Enjoy a breakfast of orange juice, toast and champagne in the air, or else wait until your feet are firmly back on the ground where you will be treated to an unforgettable breakfast with sausage, bagels, pastries, fresh fruit, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. This is an essential summer experience.Read more
After breakfast, feeling pleasantly surprised about how much of the day is left you can embark on your next activity. Snowmass is one of the top ten places for white water rafting in Colorado. We can organise you a half day trip in which you can experience an incredible variety of white-water experiences and difficulty levels. Take in the breath-taking surrounding scenery as you journey through valleys and look up at snow-capped peaks, with a highly trained guide.
Following your action packed morning, jump on the Elk Camp Gondola for a scenic ride up to the mountain-top destination of Elk Camp. Here you can enjoy an exquisite lunch sampling the fresh gourmet cuisine of the Elk Camp Restaurant. This is the newest on-mountain restaurant in the area and offers a creative menu featuring organic items prepared in the rotisserie, pizza hearth and in-house bake shop.
If you are feeling slightly lethargic after lunch, don’t worry; the afternoon can be as energetic as you want it to be. Relax in the sunshine with a coffee and take in the panoramic views, or take part in any of the variety of activities and adventures available at Elk Camp. These include hiking (or some gentler walks), mountain bike trails, a climbing wall, Disc golf, paint-ball and mountain boarding.
Following this, travel back down in the gondola (or follow the mountain trail down the mountain) to the Snowmass Village, for some much needed late afternoon relaxation at the Spa at Viceroy. This beautifully designed spa offers a selection of holistic wellness experiences with luxurious treatment rooms as well as an infinity pool and fountain at the centre of it all. Indulge in a relaxing massage or treatment to totally unwind before dinner.
Feeling refreshed, head for dinner at the Sage Restaurant. This restaurant is one of the area’s top dining experiences, with local, organic and sustainable ingredients at the core of every dish. Relax on the fabulous over-sized deck and enjoy panoramic views as the sun sets over the mountains, while you are treated to an extensive wine selection and sophisticated menu, consisting of in-season, healthy and fresh ingredients.
