A video portrait of Spain

Each year, we travel to hundreds of countries across the globe. We’re forever sharing tips, memories, and secrets about old haunts and new-found favourites, but we’d never – until recently – tried to explain where all this infectious curiosity actually comes from – and why it’s so important to us.

So we sat down and started talking. And we didn’t really stop.

It turned out that the most important thing – for us – is our passion for human connection; for seeing a country through the eyes of the people who actually live there. This curiosity is a fundamental part of being human and it’s why our very own and arguably most important set of beliefs, We Are Human inspire every journey that our team of relentlessly curious travel experts make.

And so, this is why we set out for Spain – going in search of the people who bring their country’s culture to life. With infectious passion, heady curiosity, and expert knowledge, the people we met showed us stunning, southerly Andalucia and the verdant valleys that are home to Rioja wine, explaining everything that is alive and kicking about their country – whether that’s horse-riding across its picturesque plains, or sipping wine in the fields where it is literally grown.*

And so, these are the stories of Yarra and Antonio – two of the people who, for us, embody the best of Spain. They’re the people who make travelling to the incredible Iberian peninsula so rewarding, and so endlessly worthwhile.

These two films are chapters 1 and 2 of our new series. Watch this space for more to come.

*we drank the wine after we rode the horses, obviously.
