The Broadmoor is one of Colorado’s most iconic establishments and the beauty of its setting well known; it is this beauty that first drew Spencer Penrose, the founder of the resort we know today, to the area. A man with good taste, clearly.
Since its launch in 1918, the popularity of The Broadmoor continued to grow as word spreads of its impeccable service, ideal location and gourmet cuisine (and as you can see; we thought we’d spread the word a bit further). But let’s look beyond the luxurious offering within the resort for a moment…
Located on the doorstep of the famous Rocky Mountains in the Colorado Springs area, The Broadmoor is your first step to the adventure lands of the state. To get a grip of the magnificent scenery, try a hike up some or all 14,115 feet of Pikes Peak, or, for those looking for a more leisurely (but equally as breath-taking) climb up the mountain, jump on board the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, which has been ferrying people up the peak for 115 years.
Garden of the Gods Park is a must for any visitor to the area, with its rich red sandstone rocks formations reaching out from the landscape. Here you can pick up a walking trail or even do some horse-riding. And if that gives you a taster for other-worldly rocks, it’s worth taking a quick shuttle ride from the hotel to Seven Falls (also known as “the grandest mile of scenery in Colorado”) to see another incredible array of stone formations along a box canyon.Read more
All of this magical escape, just a short transfer away. It takes around 75 minutes from Denver International Airport and only 15 minutes from Colorado Springs before you’ll happily be enjoying the charms of The Broadmoor and the world around it. The resort’s close proximity to these airports also makes it the perfect choice if you’re planning a multi-stop trip across the states. Colorado Springs airport, for example, has direct flights to and from LA, Vegas and Dallas, whilst Denver International flies to pretty much anywhere in the USA.
By the time you get to The Broadmoor and experience the fresh mountain air and silence of the Rockies, we’re pretty sure you’ll have begun to appreciate just how diverse and interesting the USA is as a whole. Let the adventure begin.
