Colorado offers endless holiday opportunities at any time of year, so whether you are heading off for summer in the mountains, winter skiing, or a city escape; we are here to help turn that dream of visiting Colorado into a reality.
When visiting Colorado, the best place to begin your trip is the state’s “Mile High City” – Denver, which is best known as a gateway to the Rocky Mountains. Flights from Heathrow with British Airways are direct, regular and take approximately 9 hours and 40 minutes. One of the highest altitude US cities, Denver matches spectacular scenery with young metropolitan culture, and is the perfect start to your Rocky Mountain adventure.
While Denver airport lies 25 miles northeast of Denver, getting to the city couldn’t be easier, with numerous car-hire options available, a regular bus service to downtown and a speedy new airport rail link. Once in the city you can rest up, get your bearings and then start to explore.
Renting a car is the easiest and most reliable way to get around Colorado, giving you the flexibility to travel when and where you wish. There are many car hire options at Denver Airport and we can arrange for your car to be ready as soon as you touch down. To truly see the state extensively, it is best to have your own vehicle, especially in the National Park areas, where public transport can be limited. The roads are generally in great condition, and once away from the Denver area, relatively traffic free, so driving to your destination will be both scenic and easy. Distances between locations can be long so plan your routes carefully. Denver to the Rocky Mountain National Park is approximately 65 miles, which takes about one and a half hours.
If you are feeling energetic, bike touring is another great way to experience the breathtaking scenery of Colorado. Most towns have bike rental companies with easy access and guides to bike trails around the area. There are hundreds of miles of stunning mountain passes to be explored, and we can arrange a guide or tour group to help you experience the best routes. In June, the annual Bicycle Tour of Colorado takes place which you can join in with or just enjoy the surrounding festivities of the best loop route of Colorado; a week-long cycle ride, passing though over 420 miles of Rocky Mountain scenery.
