If you’re trying to get in the party mood, take some inspiration from our friends in Colombia. In this lively country it almost feels as if every day is a weekend, with their catchy, atmospheric and authentic music – one of our favourites being Bambuco.
Bambuco is an ancient traditional type of folk music originating from Colombia and still plays a strong part in Latin American culture today. If you want to hear what it’s all about, there is no better event to attend than yearly ‘Festival de Bambuco’ celebrating the heritage of this infectious rhythm. Armies of band trio’s playing guitars, mandolins and flutes join the festival creating an electric atmosphere that can’t fail to get the party started.
And to the sound of these beats you will find bustling stalls filled with good food and drink to fuel you with energy for this vibrant occasion. Now that sounds more like a party doesn’t it? We told you they did it well. So get those guitars, flutes and mandolins and create an all singing all dancing shindig (or find yourself a Bambuco playlist online, and concentrate on the rest of the party planning).
