A Guide to James Bond Beach, Jamaica

Famed for its Beach scene in James Bond’s Doctor No, it’s certainly a yes on our beach bucket list. James Bond Beach is a slice of paradise on the north of Jamaica’s coastline, just ten miles from Ocho Rios on the small peninsula of Oracabessa.  Set against a panorama of moss green mountains, James Bond Beach has the typically aqua marine waters and golden sands so prominent to the area, but with the added luxury of a luscious lawn shaded by the palms; a spot that plays host to jazz festivals and reggae gigs, giving the beach that extra topping of Jamaican soul.

What you’ll do

If you’re not getting down to a Caribbean concert on the lawn, take in the stunning views around you. Why not enjoy it from a jet ski? Hop on a wave runner tour and watch the beach go by, as you drive past the extravagant celebrity escapes belonging to the likes of UB40 and the late Ian Fleming. It’s an adventure playground on the water, and prime place for indulging your inner ‘007’.

Why we love it

This isn’t a shrine for James Bond fans – and there are no memorabilia stalls – but if its worthy of a James Bond shoot, then its worthy of a visit. There are subtle reminders of this iconic beach’s history, from the Flemings house to Moonrakers bar.
