Exotic, bursting with colour and life, India may not be the first destination to spring to mind when you think of that all-important luxury holiday, but it should be. Let us show you why…
At a glance
If you are looking for somewhere that will invoke all your senses, jolt you from the slumber of daily life and wake you up with a heady mix the atmospheric and the exotic, look no further than India. An exquisite culmination of ancient history, traditional culture, breath-taking scenery and of course, kind-hearted locals, India has everything you could possibly want from a unique, exhilarating yet humbling journey. Famous for its architectural declaration of love; the Taj Mahal, India is a place where you will be welcomed with open arms to experience what can only be described as one of the most fascinating countries in the world. Scratch the surface and you will uncover the secrets of Jaipur’s Palace of the Wind and the tigers of Rajasthan but delve a little deeper and you will discover the fresh air of the Himalayan Mountains and what it’s like to travel in style on the back of India’s resident taxi, the elephant.
What to see
We suggest you start off by sampling the aromatic spices and earthy flavours that India is renowned for, not just to give you a taste of what is to come but also to fuel yourself for a journey of discovery across this majestic land. Take one look at India’s vibrant cities, intricate architecture and lush landscape and it’s no wonder it is the home of luxury. Our personal favourite? The ‘Cradle of Stone Architecture’, Karnataka. India’s architecture truly meets its peak here as the Maysore Palace is lit up at night, letting the light bounce off its elaborate features and making this historic landmark stand in dramatic contrast against the night sky. We were mesmerised, we’re sure you will be too.
Why we love it
India is so diverse that it has something for everyone, especially you. Explore the vibrant markets, get your adrenaline pumping as you go in search of the illusive tiger or immerse yourself in Hindu culture in elaborate temples and afterwards, head to Goa to relax on a serene and idyllic beach. Although the general population may not be rich in their monetary assets, their country is rich in culture, unique experiences and smiles. Don’t forget to get to know the locals with a home stay or hosted dinner to see their way of life for yourself. The sights, sounds and smells of India are unlike anything else in the world and this is why they need to be experienced to be appreciated, believed and marvelled at but most of all, remembered. Forever.
