The famous ‘lake of shining waters’ is a stunning natural attraction in Toronto. Whether a stroll along the waterfront will suffice or you’re ready to dive straight in, this isn’t an opportunity to be missed; a natural beauty amidst a sprawling metropolis.
Windsurfing is a great way to explore the lake at your will. Lessons are available for all-levels of wind-surfer and Saturday races are hosted throughout the year. Trust us when we say you’ll end up wanting to spend your days and nights on the shore.
Whether it’s kayaking, canoeing or paddle-boarding you’re after, you’ll find it on the lake. A longer excursion to reach the Toronto Islands, allowing you to explore the multiple inlets and beautiful lagoons, is a must. We can even arrange a paddle out to the islands for a sunset picnic, if you’re looking to really immerse yourself in Toronto’s natural beauty.
You haven’t sailed Toronto-style until you’ve boarded one of the famous schooners that can be spotted daily on Lake Ontario. The Kajama and Challenger set sail by day and in the evenings too, and can even be privately hired. A trip on either tall ship is the perfect way to see the Toronto skyline and enjoy the sights and sounds of the lake too.
If you’re not at one with the water, you can still enjoy the lake from dry land. Sugar Beach is an urban beach park not far from Queen’s Quay and is the ideal place to soak up the rays or watch the activity on the water from a distance.
