Experience

Brisbane’s beaches and beyond

This seven-night luxury vacation around Brisbane is a great alternative to the well-trodden path of Australia’s East coast. Get ready to experience dunes, helicopters, countryside, wine tasting and dolphins through the stunning coastal trio of Brisbane, Moreton Island, and Lady Elliot Island. They can’t be beaten.

Wild cities

Get stuck into the Aussie culture when you arrive by finding your bearings on a full day tour of Brisbane. You’ll get to know the adorable wildlife first hand at Australia’s first and largest koala sanctuary – Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Alternatively, take a short flight to Lady Elliot Island to snorkel on the Great Barrier Reef, arguably one of the best spots in the world.

Fancy getting right under the skin of this incredible city? Well there’s no better way to do this than by embarking on a unique walking tour, lead by the city’s infamous ‘greeters’. These local volunteers will have you excited to see all that Brisbane has to offer as they share their enthusiasm for the place that they call home. With a different theme for every day of the week, the Brisbane Greeters promise to show you the city’s artistic, architectural, historic and river-side highlights. Alternatively, a cycling tour around the city is always a great option. With lush green parks, river-side cycle paths and an infinite number of eateries and cultural sites to have a rest stop at, cycling proves to be a fun and insightful way to see what the city has to offer.

We’ll make sure you’re well rested after a busy day by putting you up at the Spicers Balfour – luxury and relaxation at its best. It’s a short walk from the best of Brisbane’s bars, cafes and restaurants, and the rooftop bar has an incredible view across the cityscape.

Wine and countryside

Only 45 minutes from Brisbane, Somerset Valley is famous for an abundance of world class vineyards, and you can taste your way around the selection with up to twenty wines from the Queensland’s winery of the year – Ocean View Estates. An alternative (and our personal favorite) is the six course degustation partnered with a unique wine matching experience. The mountains and luscious valleys of the surrounding area are spectacular in their own right, making for an unforgettable day.

Scenic views

A leisurely drive to the breath taking Scenic Rim is next on the list. Here you’ll find a wealth of unique flora and fauna residing in the vast mountain range, where you can take part in bush walking or mountain biking whilst soaking up the Queensland sunshine.

You’ll be staying in the boutique king spa suite at the Spicers Peak Lodge, the host to remarkable views of the surrounding mountain ranges. It is adjacent to the Main Range National Park, a World Heritage Site, and rightly so.

Island escape

Today you’re able to indulge in some serious beach time. A short one hour ferry across the bay and you’ll arrive at the third largest sand island in the world – Moreton Island. The unspoiled paradise has endless white sand beaches, an unbeatable selection of wildlife, and beautiful blue waters for swimming – a combination that previously you could only dream of. Come face to face with wild bottlenose dolphins, right on the shores of the Tangalooma resort, where you will be staying. Meeting up to eight of the pod at sunset right on your doorstep is a true once in a lifetime opportunity.

Explore the elements by making the most of the island by land, sea and air. For the adrenaline junkies amongst us, reach speeds of up to 40kph on the Sand Tobogganing tour. If you don’t have the need for speed, the views from the dunes, (which can reach up to 90m high) are spectacular.

Saving the best until last, you should try snorkelling the island’s remarkable wrecks. It’s worth getting your hands on an underwater camera to capture the vibrant reef fish, coral formations and marine life, and the memories will be hard to replace. A bird’s eye view from a helicopter ride around the island is perfect to view everything the island has to offer; including the desert, wrecks, lagoons, dunes, and the cape Moreton lighthouse.
