Set in the heart of a thousand-year olive grove, the Bastide St Antoine brings to life the enchanting dream of provincial living. This 18th Century residence acts as the perfect base to explore the beautiful Cote d’Azur region, or stay closer to home and delight in the gastronomic creations that come from the revered restaurant lying within the sumptuous setting of the property.
La Bastide St Atntoine majestically sits within acres of lush, Mediterranean flora, bordered by olive groves and the sort of rustic, red-roofed houses you would hope to find in rural France. Set on the idyllic French Riviera, Bastide St Antonie calls the quiet town of Grasse home, a place where history and beauty abounds. Aesthetics aside, Grasse is also considered to be the perfume capital of the world – surely the perfect place to do indulge in a spot of perfume therapy.
With views over the Bay of Cannes and the sweeping Riviera coastline, rooms at the Bastide St Antoine work in tandem with their rural surrounds to create a tranquil, elegant space. The Provencal rooms retain an air of rustic, regional charm featuring the likes of antique writing bureau’s, sumptuous beds and floors clad in original 18th Century terracotta tiles. For those of you who can’t be without their creature comforts, rooms also contain wide screen TV’s and IPod cables so you can easily get your 21st Century technology fix.
Why we like it
Resting in such revered, rural surrounds that fulfil our dreams of living a simpler life, yet just a short drive from the golden sands and vibrant buzz of Cannes, a stay here gives us the best of both worlds. Bastide St Antoine is also celebrated for its world class cuisine, where headed up by the Grand Chef Jacques Chibois, you can expect dishes that use locally sourced ingredients and recipes that whilst traditional to the Provencal region have a contemporary twist – we suggest opting for the mandarin sorbet with jasmine marmalade, it’s a taste sensation.
