The wedding is over. The month’s of planning and stress were worth it. But now, now it’s your turn for some luxurious down-time on this all encompassing honeymoon adventure across New Zealand. Discover Waiheke Island (via seaplane, of course) before taking on the lakes, coves and glorious coastlines that always leaves us in awe of New Zealand’s natural beauty. There’s one particular place we’re very excited for you to experience – think totally remote, glass fronted accommodation (for two) and a private bay (yep, your very own – accessed by helicopter) brimming with wildlife. We’ll let you discover more below. Prepare to be mesmerised, hand in hand with your loved one.

WAIHEKE’S WINES & BLISSFUL BAYS

As soon as you land in New Zealand, we’ll immediately whisk you off to Waiheke Island to begin your romantic trip. With so much to see and discover, there’s really no time to waste…

Waiheke’s native bush farms, beautiful beaches and warm climate will offer a perfect start to your adventure, so for three nights, indulge in a little ‘me’ time at the luxurious Boat Shed and immediately begin sampling some locally grown wines. Whilst on Waiheke, we’ll also organize guided tours of the vineyards, plenty of swimming opportunities at the superb beaches, and even a 4WD, equipped with gourmet picnic, for you to explore privately. It’ll be an idyllic three nights, trust us.

LAKESIDE LUXURY & SECRET COVES

From Waiheke we’ll take you back to the mainland to collect your private car and drive to Taupo for two nights. Taupo is set on the shores of New Zealand’s largest lake and your stay at Acacia Cliff’s provides exquisite views of your surroundings. Your first morning here will commence with a guided hike through native bush to your luxury sailing cruise, no less, upon which you’ll discover the ancient Maori rock carvings around the lake. When you’re not immersing yourself in culture, jump overboard for a swim, or simply soak up the rays on deck. It’s set to be a truly magical day.

On day six you’ll head south to the truly stunning Hawkes Bay – and it’s time to get your wine on. Wake up refreshed in your luxurious abode and head out for half a day of cycling between wineries, tasting some of the world’s best as you go. Meet some of the very best local producers and sample a range of craft delicacies (a good idea considering all of the wine you’ll be enjoying, on two wheels…). There’s so much culinary excellence to enjoy here, as well as natural beauty, so spend the next few days indulging and exploring.

A quick flight and water taxi will see you arriving at The Bay of Many Coves a few days later. Two nights here will allow you to relax and revitalise in a serene boutique lodge, only accessible by boat or helicopter. Here you can explore the coastline and even take part in some dolphin watching. Make sure you sample some of the delicious local cuisine too; seafood plays a large part on the menu here, as does the local wine from Marlborough, all of which you can burn off on your private hike along the mesmeric Queen Charlotte Track.

SECRET ESCAPES

From the Bay of Many Coves, it’s time for your transfer to what may just be the highlight of your whole trip: a night at Seascape, Annandale. A truly breathtaking experience, board your helicopter, land in your own private bay and come face to face with your glass-fronted accommodation that’s been sympathetically carved into the landscape behind it. Settle down for an evening by the fire overlooking the waters – watching out for the appearance of seals and dolphins that only you’ll lay eyes on. This is the sort of place whose beauty that will make you stop and appreciate the special moments you’re sharing with your loved one – a true honeymoon heaven.

AN ALPINE ENDING

Your trip may be coming to a close, but first you’ll get to experience the wonders of Minaret Station, via a stunning helicopter ride above rainforests, frozen lakes and glaciers, of course. Only accessible by heli, Minaret Station offers a unique wilderness experience, and should you wish to, you can partake in hunting, fishing, mountain biking and private farm tours. Or you can kick back and take in the uninterrupted views, glass of wine in hand.

Queenstown is where your journey will end, but with two nights to spare, you will have more than enough time to experience some of this region’s incredible landscapes. We’ll take you up to the untouched wilderness of the Dart River where you can take an exhilarating jet boat ride through this World Heritage Area. Any time spent not relaxing can be equally enjoyed with white water rafting, horse-rides across the alpine countryside and a breath-taking gondola ride to Bob’s Peak to capture more memorable views of the area. A picture-perfect ending to a truly exhilarating exploration of New Zealand’s wonders.
