Hole up in one of the exclusive 12 suites of this boutique hideaway situated along the Garden Route. Guests set the pace here – whether you’re in the mood for an action packed few days quadbiking and racing on horseback, or are in the market for more of relaxed break lounging around the hotel’s tranquil pool and sipping cocktails – Kurland is bound to fit the bill.
This vast estate is perched on the fringes of Plettenberg Bay, in the foothills of the Western Cape Mountains, which means there’s plenty to do if you’re feeling like a day out. George airport is only an hour and a half drive away from the retreat, and from there you’ll be able to catch internal flights to Cape Town and Johannesburg.
If traveling with youngsters go for the Luxury and Superior suites, where your offspring can make themselves at home in their private loft room furnished specially for them. Step outside into the fresh air where you can dip in and out of your private pool with the stunning estate as your backdrop. Or, opt for one of the two Elegant suites, just steps away from the tranquil pool area. These two abodes are decked out either in the Greek Mediterranean style or in pink and white Toile, and come equipped with their own patio.
Why we like it
We love being active when abroad and the polo days available for guests are really unbeatable. Whether you’re a newbie or a seasoned professional, Kurland is equipped for all levels. Plus, we feel this gives us a brilliant excuse to hit the spa afterwards to pamper those limbs…
