Standing alone on a half-mile sweep of sugar-white sand, Little Dix Bay is both elegant and homely. Delivering just the right dose of desert island allure to intrigue the most demanding of beach connoisseurs, this particular stretch of palm-fringed shoreline will definitely not disappoint. With a selection of cottages available as well as bigger beach houses and villas dotted along secluded sandy coves, you really will be spoilt for choice.
Occupying a particularly quiet corner of coast, Little Dix Bay is hidden away just north of Spanish town in the central part of Virgin Gorda Island. Bordered by untouched coral reef, this is a great spot for underwater exploration.
Go for a tropical tree house cottage suspended on stilts in the midst of dense green gardens, or opt for an opulent beach house positioned right on the sand with spectacular views out to sea. Sun yourself by your private pool or enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail under the gazebo on your wraparound terrace before finally retiring to your king size bed to be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves…it’s a hard life.
Why we like it
As well as an idyllic island setting, we’re not adverse to a bit of beachside pampering and at the Rosewood Spa that is exactly what you’ll get. Clinging to a cliff edge overlooking the crystal waters of the Sir Francis Drake channel, the Spa here offers a great selection of treatments, including their sumptuous signature goat milk & honey wrap – the perfect way to slip into the island mood.
