The British Virgin Islands

Necker Island

Richard Branson’s privately owned Necker Island sets an unparalleled tone of barefoot luxury. Set in the turquoise Caribbean waters of the British Virgin Islands, this exclusive getaway sleeps up to forty guests across its impressive residences. From swimming along vibrant reefs and sailing to meeting the resident lemurs and tantalisingly unique dining experiences – including an amazing floating sushi bar – Necker Island is playful, eccentric and simply unforgettable.

LOCATION

Just off the coast of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, Necker Island’s stunning Caribbean setting could not be any more private. The closest international airport is Beef island, set on Tortola. Once landed, you’ll have your first glimpses of paradise as you cruise across the azure waters to Necker Island where a glass of champagne will be waiting for your arrival.

YOUR ROOM

The twenty bedrooms across Necker Island’s collection of residences have been inspired by Balinese designs and comfortably sleep up to forty guests. Eleven of the rooms are set within the Great House which surrounds a large infinity pool and terrace with panoramic ocean views. Leha Lo is a separate standalone room that nestles above the rocks with sweeping sea views. Likewise, the individual Bali houses in the center of the island add another level of intimacy. Exclusively yours, the island is booked privately, however, a few select weeks throughout the year are open to individual room bookings.

WHY WE LIKE IT

Not a single detail is overlooked in design, atmosphere and hospitality on Necker Island. There’s plenty to experience both on land and under the shallows of the otherworldly reefs. From lemurs to flamingos, giant tortoises to the red ibis, you’ll have the opportunity to interact with some of the wildlife residents alongside the conservation team. Once a morning of tennis, yoga, and watersports are done, sit back and unwind by the beaches with a cocktail in hand before another delicious dining experience in paradise.
