Country wanderings & coastal cuisine in New England

A 10 night trip that’ll see you discover both New England’s inland and coastal beauty; from Boston to Vermont and Maine, prepare yourself for a unique adventure through the birthplace of the American Dream …

COSMOPOLITAN VIBES

You’ll start your adventure in Boston (home to the country’s first European settlers). Before exploring on foot, head up into the sky and get a 360 degree panorama view of Greater Boston from the Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory.  Then head back down to earth where it’s time to get up close and personal with America’s most loved Baseball Park and home to the Boston Red Sox- Fenway Park. Feeling hungry? From Neptune’s Oyster’s lobster rolls and Brewer’s Fork wood fired pizza, there’s no shortage of delights to fill you up and leave you truly stuffed. The enchanting city of Boston is sure to leave a mark as you watch the sun setting gliding down the Charles River.

INTO THE WILD

Having explored the best that Boston has to offer, it’ll be time to head North-West through the rolling patchwork hills of New Hampshire before entering Vermont. A state famous for its pretty clapboard houses, enormous lakes and sweeping forests; there’s no doubt the home of maple syrup will have not just your sweet tooth, but your heart as well.

Get those hearts racing with a hike through the Quechee Gorge (known as Vermont’s Little Grand Canyon) and head up to the bridge in time to watch the sun set over the valley.  Having worked up an appetite it’s time to head off to Sugarbush Farm where you’ll be shown from start to finish how to make syrups before sipping a glass of wine and tasting the freshly waxed cheese- any foodies dream.

Your country adventure won’t be complete without hiking the Appalachian Trail. A trail that spans 14 states from Georgia to Maine (don’t worry, we won’t make you hike all of it), this is a great place to challenge yourself. Whether you’re super keen or just fancy a leisurely stroll, you won’t be short of breath-taking views, and if you’re lucky, some of the native beavers, coyote and moose might make an appearance.

TO THE COASTLINE

Now that you’re halfway through your trip, it’s about time you experienced New England’s coastline, so we’ll have you headed east towards Maine, the home of lobster and lighthouses.  Full of small-town charm, Maine is a place of pure, unadulterated beauty and you’ll spend the next few days exploring the great outdoors. Roam through the Acadia National Park to Little Cranberry Island before settling sail in style aboard a traditional schooner vessel through Frensham Bay.  If it’s just good food you’re after, join the fishermen and catch your own lobster to be specially prepared by the chefs at The Portland Lobster Company before heading to Duckfat for the famous crispy Belgian fries.

At the end of your trip, you’ll leave with wonderful memories and full bellies. What could be better than that?
