Vintage Hollywood

Hollywood has an undeniable super-glamour. This town is all about hush-hush indulgence and it’s ready for its close-up.

For an authentic old school Hollywood experience that gets under the skin of this scene-stealing city we’ll take you back to Hollywood’s heyday… because before Kate Moss, Lindsay Lohan and Botox there were a pack of sharply dressed starlets who’s raucous column-filling antics could teach today’s celebrities a thing or two about how to perpetrate the perfect scandal.

welcome to la la land

Arrive in true vintage style: pick up your classic convertible at LAX (just don’t forget your shades and a headscarf) and cruise to the Chateau Marmont, the original bad girl of L.A.’s hotel scene.

Renowned as the stomping ground of some of cinema’s most famous feet, for decades sirens of the silver screen have made this legendary hangout the setting for their scandalous liaisons (think Jean Harlow tiptoeing down the hallways to seduce Clark Gable whilst on her honeymoon), many moving in for months on end. And it’s easy to see why…the hotel’s gently eccentric lavish interior oozes sex appeal. Today the Chateau is still no stranger to celebrity frolics and continues to host script read-throughs in the downstairs lounge.

The beauty of Chateau Marmont is that it feels so secluded you’ll forget it’s tucked just off LA’s Sunset Strip, making it the perfect location to sample the very best of what Hollywood’s got to offer.

explore the boulevards

Hop back in the convertible for a cruise down Melrose, but be sure to drop into Decades Two, LA’s premier vintage boutique, to pick up something fresh off Angelina’s shoulders.

And where better to show off your new outfit than on a wild night out to the infamous Viper Room? Formerly owned by Johnny Depp, this infamous nightclub is something of an LA institution – its past performers list reads like the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Glam up your grungy side to catch LA’s hottest bands on stage at this dark, rough and ready nightspot.

When the sun rises, it’s time to retire to your suite at the Chateau to catch up on your beauty sleep (this is Hollywood after all). You’re off-duty now, so put on a pair of giant shades for poolside people watching, stroll through the courtyard gardens or take a swim to work up a blockbuster-sized appetite for dinner at the hotel’s incredible restaurant. Executive Chef Carolynn Spence has recently been poached from The Spotted Pig in New York to design a fresh and flavorful menu for the hungry famous, and they’ve been coming here in their droves.
