Few places on earth are more suitably named. With miles of golden, sandy beaches, dozens of al fresco bars, countless surf shacks and niche bohemian enclaves, Australia’s Sunshine Coast is a sunny, coastal paradise. North of the Queensland capital, Brisbane, this beach side idyll attracts beach-lovers of both the active and more laid-back variety. Surfing, Kayaking and bountiful diving are all on the menu, whilst a little R&R in Noosa, Coolum or King’s Beach (to name but a few) is shoreline indulgence at its very best.
But it’s not just shore-side beauty that makes the Sunshine Coast such an amazing destination. Move inland and you’ll find another world of natural beauty; biking in the hinterland will introduce you to dramatic landscapes and tropical rainforests, whilst hiking around the magnificent valleys and inclines around the Glasshouse Mountains will make you wonder just how much more splendour can be found in one place. And like it didn’t have enough to boast about, this area plays host to some of the most sumptuous food in all of Australia.
If the Sunshine Coast was a person, it would be the type of person that everyone is envious of. But it’s not a person of course, it’s a place – and a magnificent, friendly, energetic and thoroughly beautiful one at that.
