The Snowmass calendar is jam-packed throughout the year with an exciting array of events, which will keep everybody entertained whatever their passions in life. From watching local mountain traditions through the summer months to appreciating the skills of skiers and boarders as they showcase their talent in winter, Snowmass provides entertainment for everyone all year round. To make things easy for you when planning your visit, here are a few of our Snowmass favorites.
Torchlight Parade and Fireworks – December
Watch as the mountain becomes magnificently illuminated by torch-bearing skiers, winding their way down a trail towards the village. Afterwards everyone is treated to a spectacular fireworks display over Snowmass, with pyrotechnics lighting up the sky and live music throughout the village.
Bud Light Big Rail Fridays – Every Friday throughout the season
Fancy watching some out of this world snow-riding? Experience the skill and creativity of skiers and boarders at the Bud Lights Big Rail Fridays. Located in an urban inspired rail garden located on Fanny Hill, this event takes place every Friday, with cash prizes and spectator giveaways.Read more
Annual Bud Light Spring Jam – March
What could be better than enjoying some great live music on the slopes? In March, Snowmass witnesses probably the most exciting music event of the year, with three weekends of concerts and competitions across the Colorado region. The final weekend of the Spring Jam includes the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse as well as the final Bud Light Hi Fi Concert of the season.
Snowmass Balloon Festival – September
Marvel as the whole sky over Snowmass is dotted with brightly colored balloons, at the Snowmass Balloon Festival. Taking place at the end of the summer, this is a free event and involves challenges for pilots over three days, such as a distance race covering the whole of the Roaring Fork Valley. A definite highlight is the Saturday Evening Glow with free music and light show illuminating the night sky.
Snowmass Wine Festival – September
The Snowmass Wine Festival is held in Town Park in the Snowmass Village, where visitors can experience, amazing wines, food, flavors, sights, sounds and prizes. With live music and silent auctions offering trips to exciting locations around the world, this is a chance for visitors to experience the finer things in life.
Snowmass Rodeo – Every Wednesday at 5pm from June – August
For the opportunity to watch true Colorado cowboys in action, head down to the rodeo grounds in Snowmass to watch the Snowmass Rodeo Event. This takes place every Wednesday evening during the summer months, and starts off with a mouth watering barbeque dinner provided by Hickory House. This is a great chance to witness some fun-filled tradition, with skilful saddling and lassoing during events such as bronco riding, barrel racing, bull riding, team roping and wrangling, At sunset enjoy cowboy-led songs around a campfire and roast marshmallows as night falls over the mountains; a true Colorado experience.
